Coaching

Hi all,

As promised here is my updated coaching profile. I have spent a lot of time and effort preparing it and am really excited about having this opportunity to share it with you.

I've worked with many other poker coaches, professionals and my current/previous students to build a package that I believe will provide the best value, service and results for you.

----

Coaching Package ($1600):

The package I am offering is a clear and simple breakdown of all the fundamental knowledge and skills required to consistently make money playing poker online.

It details how to get ahead of the game and how to stay ahead of the game so that you able to keep improving your results after we have completed our work together.

If you are any of the following then this package is aimed at you:

  • Beginners or losing players who want to fast track their Poker learning process.
  • Part time regular players (e.g. have a 9-5 and play poker in the evenings) looking to make a decent second income from Poker and/or become full time poker players in the future.
  • Regulars who are struggling to get decent or consistent pay cheques from Poker.

If you are fed up with: min cashes, relying on showdowns or cards deep in tournaments, making more deposits than withdrawals, feeling like you are doing the same as all the other regulars or being unable to build your bankroll and climb the stakes, then this package is for you.

We will have 6x (+1) One to One 90 minute sessions using screen sharing software and audio over a 6 week or 3 week period (1 or 2 sessions per week). All of the sessions are recorded and emailed afterwards for your playback.

What you will learn:

  • Poker Strategy and how to continually improve your poker strategy
  • Mental Game and how to continually improve your mental game, and
  • How to manage your poker as a business

Your first course assignment will be to send me information about situation and your poker.

The more information you send, the better I can tailor the course uniquely for you. Please also be aware that you will be set homework between each session.

You are making a big investment: get the most out of it by applying yourself. The more effort you put in, the more value the package will be to you.

Following are the topics for the 6 sessions. There are a lot more options for sessions and they may be modified after receiving the above information, however these are the topics I believe will provide the most value and have the biggest impact on your results without knowing your specific details.

  • How to manage your Poker like a Professional (Bankroll Management, Game selection, Preparation)
  • Review of recent tournament history hand for hand
  • How to get the most out of Poker Software Part 1 (PTR/HEM2 Filters and HUD)
  • How to get the most out of Poker Software Part 2 (ICMIZER and Flopzilla)
  • Live Sweat Session
  • How to improve and continually improve your Mental game (Goal Setting, Playing your A game, Controlling your emotions)

You will need ICMIZER and Flopzilla, they are very cheap and can be purchased from:

We will spend the first 30 minutes of each session reviewing marked hands from your database to continually improve your poker strategy and introduce you to the process (apart from the live sweat sessions where you are playing). The remaining hour of each session will be focused on the session topic.

If you do not know how to mark up hands or want to learn more about the subject then please see my article on the topic at PokerWinners.com:

Once you purchase the package I will send you a simple template spreadsheet I created for documenting your progress, mental game and bankroll with example entries which will discuss in the first session, and a copy of all the presentation material.

You will be required to update the spreadsheet after every day you play and we will review it together in sessions, it only takes 5 or 10 minutes to update.

The package is limited to 3 players maximum at any time and is sold on a first come-first serve. The cost is $1600.

$1600 probably sounds like a big investment to you, but if you are serious about your poker and want to make serious withdrawals from it in the future, then the amount of value this package will add to your Poker will pay for itself and more.

After your last of the six sessions, we will organise a date for a final session. This will be around 1 month after the last session and is included in the package.

In this final session we will review your progress, the information you have been recording, how you want to continue forward and any other relevant information to your game. After this final session I will also ask you to provide feedback on the 2+2 forum, including images of your results. This is optional but would be appreciated by myself and other players considering coaching in the future.

----

  1. I was coached by Steve for around 4 months this year so just wanted to give a little write up on how he improved my game and mindset.

After playing the game for around 6 years, most of that as a full time player my backer arranged for Steve to coach me as I was becoming a little disillusioned with the game .Apart from 2 5 figure cashes my results had been poor over the last 18 months.

I would describe Steve as both as student and teacher of the game and someone who is always learning. I would describe him as a master of the mental game which I had been struggling with for a while. His sessions were thoroughly prepared in advance and he always set homework targeted at trying to remove leaks on my game.

Steve is an expert on HEM and is great at finding leaks that I never knew existed in someone’s game. He also has an excellent way of motivating someone and making learning fun. He simplified the game for me and grew my confidence during my time working with him.

From a steady downhill graph Steve gave me back my hunger for learning and my results soon started improving. In the 4 months I worked with Steve I was around $11k in profit.

I would strongly recommend Steve to serious players who are on a downswing or who feel there mental game isn’t as strong as it should be.

  2. I received coaching from Steve and I have to say that it was absolutely amazing. He's very knowledgeable about MTT/Cash game strategy as well as PT4/Holdem Manager. He was instantly able to find leaks in my game that I often just said to my self, its just variance/I'm getting sucked out on/I'm running bad. Steve has a nice approach of giving homework to work on those weaknesses in your game and eliminate them.

Right after I finished the lesson with Steve, I went to the casino to apply his teachings into my game. I was just going to make the price of my lesson but something happened. I started with $300 and then I ran it up to $2100. I have to thank Steve because he's picked out the 2 biggest leaks in my game that he gave me solutions to solve.

So if you have areas in your game that you need to work on, then Steve can help you solve those problems. The funny thing about poker is that you can have problems and not even realize that its a problem until someone like Steve comes along and says "Hey Mate, You have this huge leak in your game and I'm going to show you how to fix it!"

    Thanks again Steve

  3. I Had 4 months worth of coaching from Steve and found him to be extremely knowledgeable and professional in his approach to playing and coaching.

Our weekly sessions were well planned out and thoroughly enjoyable. I actually looked forward our sessions and hearing his views on my plays.

The sessions didn't feel like teacher and student as Steve has a way of making you feel like you've found the answers to leaks through his ability to guide you in the right direction, rather than giving you direct answers to problems. This, in my opinion, is one of his best features as something that you learn yourself sticks in your mind, rather than someone lecturing, where you learn 5% of what is taught.

HEM analysis is fundamental in the leak finding process and his knowledge of HEM is really high. Also using ICMIzer and flopzilla we covered lots of advanced areas of the game and plugged leaks which i didn't even know existed.

Its been an absolute pleasure Steve,

    Many many thanks.

  4. I've had the pleasure to work with Steve over the last 7 years through my position running the PokerStaking MTT sponsorship stable and I rate him to be the strongest coach/mentor I have worked with over this period.

Many coaches are good at in-game theory, but few possess the overall understanding to not just provide in-game knowledge and advice to help the now, but to also teach the routine and mentality required to continuously improve your poker day after day, week after week - long after any coaching ends.

Steve is a motivator who will get the best out of his students. He will demand the highest standards from those he works with and provide them with a framework of pre-game study, in-game thought processes & post-game analysis to ensure that students are able to constantly move forward at a faster pace than the field even as strategy continues to develop over the coming months.

He is reliable, highly professional, versatile and extremely good value for money. He has coached players for PokerStaking both individually and in groups as well as providing classroom webinars for larger groups and performing regular statistical analysis across the entire stable.

He brings with him an excellent level of proficiency with tools such as HEM, Flopzilla, ICMizer, PT4 & Sharkscope.

Regardless of the discipline you play or at what level Steve will help you short-cut your learning curve and move towards greater profitability and consistency in a short-time frame.

He has delivered results with every student he has worked with and will prove to be excellent value for money if you choose to employ his services going forward.

  5. I was coached by stephen for a period of 3 months in the beginning of 2016. Despite having been a winning player for many years with some great results in binking all the big tournaments including sunday majors on the eurosites and final tabling the pokerstars Sunday warmup twice in one month, I felt I didnt improve as much as id like to. and still was nowhere in the topfield of tournament crushers.

something needed to change and stephe found an imediate leak after just reviewing one tournament which was the basis of a turning point for me. How simplistic the leak might be. I was not aware of it while it was right in the open.

He than gave homework after each sesh and allthough it required to put in a lot of time outside of playing it did push me into a better direction. And everytime I did the work myself he was not sitting around either. He Always comes prepaired to every session and no matter which timezon you are he will find a suitable time to meet up even if it means for him to wake up 4 am his time.

All the time I did all the long study hours i still had the feeling that he was working behind the scenes aswell. breaking down a tournament review with more detail than I review my own. Now it might all seem easy spotting other players faults than spotting your own, it still meant he was working for me too.

I cant speak for everyone but for me it surely was great value.

my 2016 graph speaks for itself
